In town

In town

In town,
in town in the crowds going around in circles,
looking at this and looking for that,
oh, how the drudgery of life it gets to you,
and the materialism,
the materialism of modern life,
because is this what life is about?
The endless hours spent traipsing around,
the endless hours in queues,
the endless frustrations,
the endless boredom of sales patter,
that can bore you to death in a second or two?
The meaningless hours wasted,
to fulfil a basic function or two.
